Free course for Job Seekers

Connect 2 Employment-Jobs Victoria is Food & Fibre Gippsland’s Employment Program, servicing the entire region helping job seekers upskill, build confidence and find long term employment in the food and fibre sector.

We also work with FFG members and other businesses across the region to help them with their staffing needs; matching job seekers with employment opportunities in horticulture, dairy, hospitality, timber plantations, food processing and logistics, just to name a few.

To help our job seekers be better prepared for a new workplace as well as offer them ways to upskill in new industries, we collaborate with a number of stakeholders to create and run free courses throughout the year.

New Horizons is a fantastic work readiness course that helps job seekers learn more about employment opportunities in a range of industries, and across six weeks, participants are provided with entry level skills for working in the food & fibre sector.

There’ll be valuable insights and knowledge shared from industry experts, and covid restrictions permitting, there will be on site tours to a selection of workplaces.

Supported by Jobs Victoria and delivered in conjunction with the Buchan Neighbourhood House and Gippsland Learn Local - the next New Horizons Course starts in early August. All ages are welcome to this inclusive, friendly and encouraging environment, where mentoring is offered during the six weeks of the course, and ongoing as needed.
