Gippsland food and beverage producers have the opportunity to connect with a large range of markets from all over the world, as FIAL’s relaunched Australian Food and Beverage Catalogue (ABFC) provides an expanded scope for an engaging central platform where buyers to meet makers.
Food & Fibre Gippsland is also working closely with FIAL to develop some specific engagement, event and one-on-one marketing opportunities for those businesses in the region who chose to use the Gippsland Trusted Provenance brand on their packaging.
The revamped AFBC is a free online searchable directory, connecting qualified domestic and international buyers, with export-ready Australian food and beverage businesses (suppliers). The platform showcases a business’s products directly in front of global buyers, giving local suppliers the opportunity to reach new offshore markets without the cost and time normally required for travel.
FIAL’s mission is to give Australian export-ready food, agribusiness and beverage suppliers an avenue to promote their products and to connect with qualified domestic and international buyers in an online environment.
The AFBC is playing a pivotal role in growing the share of Australian food in the global marketplace by being the conduit between Australia’s food and agribusiness sector and international markets.

A global platform with buyers from over 42 countries, the AFBC is free for both buyers and suppliers to access.
It’s a one-stop shop for buyers to see exactly what Australian businesses can offer them, with concise but in-depth profiles for each highlighting how they operate and market themselves, as well as the range of products they have to offer.
FIAL’s Capturing the Prize estimated a value-add potential of $31 billion by 2030 in a supply chain transformation for the food and agribusiness sector, which includes digitalising supply chains, and improving cross-border trade for the agri-food sector.
In addition to the revamped AFBC, FIAL is also ensuring Australian businesses can still connect with markets by hosting a series of Virtual Meet the Buyer events within the platform.
These events provide export-ready Australian food and beverage suppliers the opportunity to secure a one-to-one virtual meeting with interested buyers in key markets around the globe.
To date, FIAL has facilitated over 1,000 one-to-one virtual meetings between Australian export-ready suppliers and qualified buyers.
