Business Edge Course for Gippsland Producers

The popular two-day course “Business Edge” is coming again to Bairnsdale and businesses are invited to register.

 What is Business Edge?

One of MLA’s Edge Network courses, developed originally for northern grazing businesses, it has been adapted for delivery in southern Australia.

It’s a two-day program aimed at improving financial and business management skills and the topics include:

  •  Understanding the language of money

  •  How to interpret management accounts and tying together the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement

  • Assessing whole farm business performance using the right performance indicators that are meaningful to you and your farm

  • Managing risk

  • Rationally allocating working capital

The course will be delivered in Bairnsdale by MLA accredited deliverer Paul Blackshaw from Meridian Agriculture on May 17th and 18th.

When it was last delivered in East Gippsland in 2016, the course was fully subscribed. Numbers are capped to maximise the benefits to each participant.

Hundreds of producers from around Australia have participated in this course and the feedback is very positive with participants having improved confidence and skills to better understand the financial side of the business and make necessary changes.

There is a cost of $225 + GST. (The standard charge is $1500 + GST however this is being subsidised by 85% for Gippsland producers)
